We love the outdoors, fishing, kayaking, travel and adventure! We created Riverman Guest House to appeal to people who would like to visit and experience all these amazing things here at Canyon Lake. The home was extensively remodeled in 2021 with a view towards creating a rustic and cozy environment where our guests can come to relax and not worry about things being too "fussy". Just down-home comfort and charm, with all the amenities that make you feel at home.
There are sleeping accommodations for 6 guests with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The covered side patio is a great place to hang out and have morning coffee or evening cocktails. It also provides a storage area for gear, kayaks and water toys so you can feel comfortable leaving them stored while you are off exploring other things the area has to offer. We have sufficient off-street parking for 3 vehicles and one boat trailer. Street parking is very limited so please plan accordingly.
The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking gear and utensils, plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. The indoor dining table seats 4 but there are 2 outdoor picnic tables that offer more seating. There is an outdoor charcoal BBQ available for grilling. The living area has comfortable seating and a Roku flat screen TV that you can log in to and access all your favorite channels from your home TV service or you can watch TV shows and movies through the standard apps included (there are no cable TV channels at the house). We offer whole-house WiFi for your wireless devices. Games, puzzles and lots of books are available too.
You’ll find the location to be very convenient to so many things. Within walking distance or less than a mile drive you have: Granny D’s Home Cooking restaurant; Dollar General; Mrs. Bush’s Pie Company; Nutrition Shack juice bar; Midnight Express Bar with food, pool tables and darts; My Little Pizza Oven wood-fired take-out pizza; Canyon City Grill take out burgers, wraps and salads. Less than 2 miles away is: Guadalupe River access; Tubing at The Horseshoe; Whitewater Amphitheater live music venue; and more.
Of course there is beautiful Canyon Lake with all the fun that can be had on the water whether you bring your own watercraft, take advantage of available rentals, or just soak up the sun and go for a swim. Kayak or fish the river, hike the trails, take a horseback ride, or search for dinosaur tracks on the Gorge Tour. Daytrip to Wimberley, Schlitterbahn, Natural Bridge Caverns, Boerne, Gruene, San Antonio or Austin and more. There’s something for every interest.
We do want you to kick back and enjoy yourself, but we don’t want things to get out of hand. We have great neighbors, and they deserve to have their peace too. So, this is not the place for parties, outdoor music, excessive drinking, drug use, yelling, loudness, or belligerence. Only guests who are approved on your reservation are allowed on the property, inside or outside. No smoking is allowed inside the house or under the covered patio. You can smoke under the open sky outdoors if you’d like but please dispose of butts in the trash. We have a no pet policy due to allergies and we will charge an additional cleaning fee if there is evidence of an animal on the property. Causing a disturbance with the neighbors or breaking the House Rules will immediately end your stay without refund so please be respectful.
We offer contact-free check-in so you can arrive any time after 4:00pm on your check-in day. The property has a keyless entry that you can operate from your cellphone or by using the numeric keypad, so you don’t have to worry about finding or losing keys. There are two outdoor security cameras, one at the front door/covered porch and one that monitors the back entry and back side of the house. The back camera does not face or monitor the back covered patio area for your privacy. A noise monitoring device will alert us to noise levels, loud disturbances and parties. It does not record voices or conversations for your privacy. All our security electronics comply with short-term rental privacy laws.
